Born on May 14, 1947 in Manhattan, son of the late Francis Xavier and Mary Adele Sansone and was raised in the Bronx.
Frank joined the U.S. Army in October of 1966 and was honorably discharged in October of 1968, shortly thereafter on March 22nd 1969 at St Margaret’s Church in the Bronx he married the love of his life Patricia Jane Garvey.
A self-made man, he worked a full-time job, attended night school while raising a family, going from bank teller to the Executive Vice President of Union State Bank. His family, relatives and friends all reaped the benefits of his tireless efforts. 4 Rose Hill Road will always be remembered as a special meeting place. Be it a graduation, Communion, engagement or an impromptu pool party, all were welcome.
Loved by many, feared by some, respected by all, he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Pat, his children Frank & Deb, Meredith & Vincent Rapolla, Jennine & Michael Greenhut and Thomas & Kim, his grandchildren James, Julia, Frankie and Noelle as well as many relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his brother, Paul Vincent Sansone and his sister Mary Adele Baumann
He was a devoted husband and loving father. Big Frank was a fixture in the stands and on the sidelines. He rarely missed a swim meet, lacrosse or football game. Midlife he discovered the joys of the open road on his Harley with the Hudson Valley NY HOG Chapter, where he added many more lifelong friends. Later he’d become a doting grandfather to his pride and joys: James, Julia, Little Frankie and Noelle.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 15 from 3–7pm at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home in Suffern, NY. A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Monday December 16 at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern NY.
