Edward A. Schradin III, of Greenwood Lake, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the age of 83. The son of the late Edward A. Schradin II and Frieda Schultz Schradin. He was born in the house he grew up in, in Greenwood Lake, on December 19, 1935.
Edward A Schradin, his grandfather, established Edward A. Schradin & Sons family business and it was rumored to be the first plumbing business in Greenwood Lake and continues today under the fourth generation. Ed was a licensed Master Plumber and Electrician. He would always go the extra mile for his customers. He was well liked and respected by all his customers and the community. Ed was also proud to be an Eagle Scout. He went to the original Greenwood Lake School and graduated from Monroe Woodbury High School. Ed was a long-time member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon and Masonic Lodge 544. He was the past Grand Master Mason and a member for 60 years.
During WWII, he was an Aerial observer overlooking Bellvale, NY. He enjoyed fishing with his sons, word find puzzles, and traveling to Maine to enjoy seafood and lobster bakes.
Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife Paulette Fontana Schradin in January 2015 and by his dog Maxie.
Ed is survived by his loving children Paulette Maidlow (Jeffrey), Anita Schradin (Joseph P. Codi, Jr.), Edward B. Schradin (Denise), and Anthony Schradin (Deborah). He is also survived by his grandchildren Ava, Nicole, Derek (Nicole), and Joseph; by his great grandchildren Noah, Kade, Kaitlyn, and Isabelle; and by his sister Carol Hoffman (Ronald “Duke” Hoffman).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 4-8pm at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. Committal will be private.
