Corinne was born in Bronx, NY in 1955 to Catherine and John Engel. She is predeceased by her brother John (Jack) and parents. Corinne is survived by her beloved children Daniel (Adrienne) Borghoff of East Orange, NJ, Kathryn (Wil) Rodriguez of Tappan, NY, and Jessica (Patrick) Woodall of Cape Coral, Florida, and sister Eileen (Mark) Nizer of Delmar, NY. She is also survived by her sweetheart and companion of almost 20 years, Brian K. Gallagher, whose love and support sustained her.
Corinne grew up in Suffern, NY and was a graduate of Suffern High School. She had many accomplishments scholastically with a degree in Nursing from Rockland Community College and a Bachelors and Masters in Fine Arts and Illustration from Montclair State University.
Corinne’s favorite role was Mother to her children and also that of “Nana” to her precious grandchildren Gavin, Aria, Corbin, Eamon, Isla, and Briar. She always put her family first, especially her children. Her home was also open to friends and family for a cup of tea at the kitchen table, a warm meal (her pot roast was the best) and her unmistakable laugh that filled a room. She always had an ear to listen and was a rock and lifelong friend to many.
Corinne was always so active in her community as a Den Mother, Girl Scout leader, and seamstress for the plays at Sacred Heart. She was very creative and loved crafting, baking, couponing (she never missed a good bargain), and the music of Brad Paisley. Her love of her Irish heritage and traditions were integrated in all of her family gatherings and holidays. She lived her life with a smile on her face even in times of heartache and pain. Corinne’s wit and strength were palpable, she was a force. She will be missed dearly by all who loved her.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.wanamakercarlough.com for the Borghoff family.
