Anthony Nienstedt (Tony) 66, of Sloatsburg, NY, passed away on November 11, 2024 . Tony was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments, Tony was born in Bronx, NY on August 18, 1958 to Nicholas and Irene Nienstedt. He was a proud resident of Sloatsburg for over 30 years.
He is survived by his incredibly loving wife of 42 years, Sonja Nienstedt of Sloatsburg, NY; his mother, Irene Nienstedt; his brother, Nicholas Nienstedt; his sons, Anthony (TJ) Nienstedt, Jr. (Jazmyn), Eric Nienstedt (Taylor) and Michael Nienstedt (Amanda); the sunshines of his life, his beautiful grandchildren, Romyn, Ryder and Rex; nieces, cousins and their families, and a countless number of friends.
Tony was employed by Verizon for 25 years, and he worked at the recovery site at ground zero after the attacks.
Tony cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He loved life and was a friend to all. His strong will to live and the enormous love and support of his family and friends carried him through the last years of his life. He was a pillar of strength and a beacon of love, and his absence leaves a void in our hearts.
To commemorate Tony’s remarkable life and the memories we cherish, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 2:00pm-6:00pm at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home, 177 NY-59, Suffern, NY 10901. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed.
