Angelina "Nan" Hodsoll, a beloved resident of Nanuet, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 18, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on February 11, 1930, in the Bronx, NY, to Joseph and Theresa (DePalo) Villani, Angelina lived a full and vibrant life.
In her early years, Angelina worked as a telephone operator, where she developed a deep love for connecting with people. After marrying and starting a family, she moved to Rockland County in 1962. There, she became a cherished part of the community, working as an admitting clerk and switchboard operator at Ramapo General Hospital.
In 1979, Angelina’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to open a medical answering service, where she became the trusted and familiar voice for many of the county's doctors. For decades, she provided comfort and reassurance to countless patients and professionals alike. Known for her warm and caring nature, Nan's voice was a beloved presence that brought a sense of security and comfort to all who knew her.
After nearly four decades of dedicated service, she retired in November 2015, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, professionalism, and an unmatched connection to her community. Above all, Nan cherished spending time with her family, who were the center of her world. Her memory will be forever treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Angelina is survived by her beloved daughter Donna Baratta and her husband Joseph; Grand children Theresa Wright, Joseph Vitulli, Dina Baratta, Donna Baratta, Danielle Baratta and great grand children Madison Wright & Joseph Vitulli
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Wayne Hodsoll in 2003.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 2-6pm at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Rt. 59, Suffern, NY 10901. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Monday, August 19th also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
