It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dora Lee Berry, aged 86, on October 5, 2024. She left us peacefully at the Oak Knoll Health Care Center in Framingham Massachusetts, surrounded by the love of her family.
Dora was born on December 29, 1937, in Houston, Texas, to Robert Martin and Odessa Robbins. Dora earned her Master's Degree in Social Work and worked in the Hopewell Valley Public School System in New Jersey. There she followed her passion for helping and supporting the youth in her care. After retiring from the school system, she continued to help and support youth in private practice with Comprehensive Health in Pennington New Jersey.
Family was at the center of Dora's world. Dora was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late Henry Curtis Berry Sr., who passed away on February 21, 2024. Dora is survived by her children: Artie Ann (RT) Berry, Henry Curtis Berry Jr and his wife Eileen M. Berry, Doretta Berry and her husband Ernie Rich. She was a pillar of unwavering support, guidance, and love for her family, and her memory will forever live on in their hearts.
In addition to her immediate family, Dora leaves behind grandchildren Jaime Catherine McCauley, Melanie Ela Lindgren, and Henry Alexander Rich and her great grandchildren Jaidyn Lindgren, Declan McCauley and Fion McCauley who brought immeasurable joy and laughter into her life.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Duckett - J.S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road (Rt. 20), SUDBURY on Tuesday October 15th from 10:00 – 11:00am. The Service to celebrate Dora's life will be held from 11:00 – 12:00 pm at the same location. An Interment Ceremony will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center, a cause close to Dora's heart.
The family expresses their gratitude for the support and kindness shown during this difficult time. Your thoughts, prayers, and condolences are deeply appreciated.
Dora’s departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will continue to inspire us all. May she rest in eternal peace.
