Lee Anna “Goober” Fields, 57, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Monday, October 14th, 2024 at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville.
Goober was born in Virginia to Martin D Fields Sr. and Betty E. Fields on June 26th, 1967. Goober was a hard worker, spending most of her time at work. She previously worked for Augusta Health for 13 years, and was well known by all of her local Law Enforcement friends for her work at the 7-11 in Fishersville, where she could always be found with a smile and a cup of coffee. She also deeply loved her friends and family and when not at work she could be found cheering on Virginia Tech, or mowing her yard.
Goober was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kimberly Fields Plogger.
Goober is survived by her daughters, Marty Fields of Stuarts Draft and Amanda Fields; a brother, Martin Fields and wife Renee; a sister, Jennifer Fields Armstrong and husband Kern; as well as nieces and nephews, Luke Fields, Tyler Armstrong and wife Jess, Ashley Plogger Akin and husband Zach, Jenna Fields and fiancé Kordell, and Jessica Fields. In addition, she is survived by a great niece, Olivia Akin; a great nephew, Tripp Akin; and uncle, Ronald Fields of Maryville, TN; special friends, Alex Bosserman and Tina Grant. She is also survived by numerous cousins, and her canine sidekick, Ace.
Per Goobers’ wishes, there will be no services at this time, however, a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
