Several years later, around 1950 or so, the family went to Salt Lake City, Utah, while her dad was working in Alaska. They were there for approximately one year and then the family moved back to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where Nancy went through school. She attended the First Baptist Church of Lancaster growing up, and she also attended McCaskey High School, graduating in 1961 and then, as a 19-year-old teenager, she came to Florida to visit her uncle in St Petersburg, Florida.
She also started working as a waitress and within a short period of time she and my dad met and within 4 months they were married in 1962.
Her first child Adam was born August 16th, 1963, and within 2 weeks of Adam's birthday, they moved to Hobe Sound, Florida, and her husband, James Roman, started school in the Hobe Sound Bible institute in Hobe Sound, Florida.
Nancy leaves behind two children Adam and Timothy, two grandchildren, Christina and Sophia. Christina is the older one at 22 years old, and graduated with a degree in psychology, she is now working on a medical degree. Sophia is 12 years old and Sophia will be attending a charter school because he has a really great talent in art. Nancy also leaves three brothers, Jim, Mike and Bob, two sisters, Linda and Shirley (deceased).
While James was studying in the Hobe Sound Bible Institute, Nancy was acquiring some training skills working on Jupiter Island, as well as working in the Hobe Sound Manor. Then in 1960 6 or 67, they summered at High Rock, Bahamas, filling in for the missionaries who were taking a break for the summer.
By 1967, they had moved back to the West Coast of Florida, where James parents and family were residing.
James Roman built a nice, small block home for the family, and they lived there until 1974. In the school year of 1974, they brought Adam and Timothy back to the Hobe Sound Bible Academy. Adam graduated from the Hobe Sound Bible Academy High School 1981 and also attended the Hobe Sound Bible College, as well as the Union Bible College. Timothy also attended the Hobe Sound Bible Academy, and then went on to graduate from Valencia Police Academy, and became a police officer serving for over 23 years, and who is now retired.
So overall mom was a really wonderful mother and a grandmother, a wonderful wife and will be missed, and we will always remember Mom and the wonderful times we all had together
