Katherine W Schneider

Katherine Webel Schneider, age 90, died peacefully on July 21, 2015 after two days at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Florida with her only daughter, Barbara Schneider Burke, at her side. Her final days before that were spent in the comfort of her home with her beloved dog, Homer. She was born in Queens, New York, New York; lived in Garden City, New York for 45 years and Stuart, Florida for 25 years. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and outstanding homemaker, an active participant of the Stuart Congregational Church from nearly its inception and volunteer at the Martin Memorial Hospital for over 10 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John H. Schneider, Silver Star and Purple Heart recipient, whom she married upon his return from Army duty after World War II. Survivors include in addition to her daughter, Barbara S. Burke, her son-in-law, Raymond F. Burke of Hobe Sound, FL, her sister-in-laws, Eleanor Clinton of Vero Beach, FL and Beatrice Paden of Long Island, NY, seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 10 AM on August 29, 2015 at the Stuart Congregational Church.
