He is survived by his wife, Theresa A. Carrano (nee Harriman), his sons Michael and Victor, his daughter Mary Driscoll, his daughter-in-law Edie, his son-in-law Robert Driscoll, his grandsons Michael, Victor and Paul, his granddaughter Alisha, and his great grandsons Avery and Kairo.
Victor was born on November 4, 1927, to Michael and Mary Carrano (nee Giampietro) in New York City. He attended St. Columba Elementary School and St. Michael’s High School.
He enlisted in the Army on December 3, 1945, and served in the Army Air Corps. He was stationed in Goose Bay, Labrador, and was honorably discharged on June 6, 1947.
He and Theresa were married on June 13, 1959, and they lived on 27th Street in Astoria, NY for 60 years.
He was an employee of a research laboratory at Columbia University from 1956 until his retirement in 1989.
He was a lifelong member of the McBurney YMCA in Manhattan, and a fitness enthusiast, as well as an avid boxing fan. He was also an ardent music lover and Johnny Hartman’s biggest fan.
He was a devoted husband and father who loved the beach in Bayville, NY, walking around Manhattan and spoiling his cats. He was a God fearing, kind and humble soul who touched many lives with his gentle spirit and he will be greatly missed.
A Private Funeral Service for Victor will be held Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 73 N Liberty Dr, Stony Point, New York 10980.
In Lieu of Flowers Donations can be made in his name, to St Jude’s Hospital, his favorite charity.
