Anna Ciabattoni, age 89 of Stony Point, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on September 22, 2024. Anna was born in Haverstraw, NY on May 11, 1935 to Filippo Ciabattoni and Vincenza who preceded her in death. She is preceded by her longtime partner Elizabeth Waldron and her siblings: Ugo Antonini (Louise); Rose Luzi (Louie); Nataline Cataldi (Philip); Yolanda Grainge (Bill); Mary Bowan; John Antonini; Sonny Antonini (Barbara); Antoinette Corica (John); Emidio Ciabattoni (Elsie); Patrick Ciabattoni (Evelyn). She is survived by her siblings: Philip Ciabattoni (Patricia), Renee Milanes (Angel); Mario Ciabattoni (Olivia); Marinella Ciabattoni-Call (Joseph) and many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
Anna was better known as “Annie” from Annie’s Snack Shack which she established in 1951 at the age of 16 that she operated and managed until her retirement in 2007. Annie took pride and enjoyment in serving the community for 56 years not only through the restaurant but also her charitable contributions for the community she loved. Generations of families may also remember her amazing lawn and home decorations for the holidays, especially Halloween. She also took pride in the Monday night car shows at her restaurant as well as many other community functions. Annie had an amazing way with people and they knew they were in the presence of someone special when they were in her company. Aside from her love for her restaurant and the community, she adored her dogs Joey and Toby which brought her much joy and happiness.
In her final years Annie spent time between her home in Highland Falls along the Hudson River and her home in South Florida. She was a smart, successful woman who was ahead of her time. She had a sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. She loved spending time with her friends and family enjoying fabulous food and cocktails. One of her favorites were raw clams on the half shell and an ice cold beer.
A visitation for Anna will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 73 N Liberty Dr, Stony Point, New York 10980, followed by a funeral service from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
