My most sincere condolences for the loss of your dear Emily. While every loss of a loved one is profound, none may be as much so as that of a special mother and grandmother.

What a blessing it was to have known Emily through Jay and the family over these last 15 years. Through the business Emily become a good friend and enduring part of our Primerica family. Throughout the time we knew her, she was always a lady of character and great humility.  We are sad to lose her but we will always remember her beautiful smile and warm personality. My deepest condolences to Bro Jay  Royce and family on the demise of my 3rd sister, Siew Meei..
I have been constantly in touch with Emily. The last I spoke to her was on the 5th of  December when she called to say that she bled so soon as what the doctor has predicted.
She has fought the battle with cancer for the last 5 to 6 years. She did put up a great fight but unfortunately her body has given up. Her bone marrow function was suppressed by the chemotherapy that she had received.
I marvelled at her excellence in sports. She had been a Penang state short distance runner and a volley player.
She is my immediate elder sister and we are rather close, sharing news of our life journey. She was a good and caring sister to me and the other siblings. I cherish the moments we had together and that you will always be remembered by all of us. We miss you, Sis. Meei. We are sad that you have passed on. However, we are comforted that it has ended your sufferings and that you are in a better place. Good bye Sis. Meei.

Taking this opportunity to send my condolences to Bro Joon Wah, Royce and other family members and also to write a bit as how I remember my late Sis Meei.
Sis Meei is the 4th while I am the 7th in the family of 4 boys and girls. I guess both of us have a bit in common as we were the only ones in the family to be good at volleyball and track and field events. I grew up idolising her for her achievements in sports especially track and field events. I would rummage through her medals that she had won and that inspired me to be a very good runner myself. However, I honestly didn't get to get to know her much as she left for England to work as a nurse when I was about 12. Since then I only get to see her  less than 10 times before her demise.
It was only recently that when I was down with cancer too that we started to get in touch very regularly over the mobile phones. Strangely enough, we are the only 2 siblings who are struck with cancer among the 8 of us. We would talk and comfort each other to keep our spirits up and facing this dreadful disease positively. The last time I got to speak to her was on 4th December 2024 when she called to inform me that doctors would stop her treatment and placed her in Hospice. I guessed she knew too her calling was coming but she kept telling me her plans with Bro Joon Wah, Royce and her beloved grandchildren. Anyway, I feel sad but very happy for her that she got to go peacefully in her sleep. Although gone to a better place, she will always be cherished and remembered. Goodbye Sis Meei. I love you and gonna to miss you.

Hi Sis Meei, we had a long chat last Friday, which is typically the case when we manage to catch up with each other over the phone. I can recall that you sounded strong and resolute, as always, and was mentally prepared for the “day”even though we didn’t use the word “terminal” or death at all in our conversation apart from discussing about your plan stay in the hospice so as not to further burden the family. 

As you have said to me on many occasions, “I am indeed very lucky and fortunate to have a very good husband, a very good son and daughter-in-law as well as two wonderful grandchildren.”. 

You also mentioned that you have done the best for herself and your loved ones, and hence, has no regrets when the time comes. 

Despite undergoing medical treatment, you have always remain positive and optimistic and was certainly pleased  and happy you are able to lead a normal life for as long as you did. I can feel your happiness and excitement when you talked about your travels with Jay, and also your time with your family at home and  during the holidays.

You have been a wonderful sister to me, and I will miss you. I have no doubt our siblings and others in our family feels the same right now.

Dear Aunt Emily, got to know you thru Mummy Betty back in 16th December 2023.  You and uncle Jay came to Singapore on holiday and this was both of your 1st time concert with Mummy Betty and me in Singapore.  You  always look cheerful and strong to me.  Mummy Betty is always updating me on your health issue.  Sad to see you leaving us but we will remember you in our heart.  Rest in Peace Aunt Emily, we will miss you! Luv, Shirley

With A Heavy Heart, Hong and family  would like to extend our Deepest Condolences to Uncle Jay and Royce for the demise of a wonderful wife and and an all rounder super Mum. She is indeed a rare gem with so much energy and good at multi tasking. My regret is not able to make it to attend her funeral in Canada. How I wish we can meet the last time you guys came back to visit friends and relatives in KL and Penang. Despite my effort to drive all the way to meet her and uncle Jay I Penang, I was not able to meet you guys due to a super tight schedule and appointment you guys have for others. That make me sad not to see her for the last time....One day I vow to myself that I will visit Uncle Jay and Royce in Canada and pay Auntie a visit. That time will come.... My children and I going to miss you a lot. Your effort and kind advices to me during my good and difficult time will never be forgotten and I will forever cherish that awesome time when I was staying with you guys in Maple Ridge during my Univ time in the States. May your soul rest in peace and you will be in heaven for all the good deeds you've done for other....Uncle Jay, stay strong and take good care of your health. Royce, take good care of your dad.

As we celebrate your remarkable life, we find comfort in knowing that your light will continue to shine in our hearts, guiding and inspiring us every day. Rest in peace, dear Aunt Meei!

A warm and fresh memory we shared...

My beloved Aunt Meei, I was your flower girl but you were my defender and guiding light. You shaped my life, you taught me how to be a strong woman and you led by example. Your charitable heart and compassion are important lessons for the young. You broke traditions that were harmful, but kept those that made us better people. You were known as the westernized Aunt, but all I can see is a balanced strong lady.

I am grateful that you fought a good fight these past 6years, buying us time to make more memories and also easing us into saying goodbyes. It was not easy on you, but you did it for us, selfless as always. You will live on in my heart, and I know we will meet again. So this is farewell and not goodbye forever, till we get to share love and laughter again in our afterlife.
