Don joined the Canadian Military Service at 16 years of age. He served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953 and he most recently received the Ambassador of Peace medal on behalf of the Korean government. He was a very proud and honored veteran.
When Don returned home from Korea he searched far and wide to find the most beautiful girl. He met his beloved Pauline and fell in love with her red hair, her two stepping and her bread pudding.
The family moved to Stony Plain area in 1981. Don’s ingenuity and passion for creating and inventing led him to create a one of a kind machine called “The Cramer AWD”. Don was a avid hunter and outdoorsman. He also enjoyed farming, spending time with his family, collecting any kind of scrap material, spending his days in the shop and motorcycle dirt track racing in which he retired in 1964 undefeated in Alberta. His gentle demeanor gave him a soft spot cows, horses and bulls. He always had a story to share- true or not- that would leave you with a smile.
Don truly was a “jack of all trades” and a master of most! Forever loving, patient, selfless, and witty, a jokester, and a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend; always willing to lend a helping hand and thinking of others first.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Pauline, his children Douglas (Linda), Trevor, Beverly “Angel” (Ross Secord), Donna (daughter in law); two half brothers Dwayne and Roland. Six grandchildren Jesse (Ashley), Jacquline (Dan), Tristan and Teela, Richard (Nolan), Paige (Shaun); four great grandchildren Vincent, Ezekial, Arya and Riley; and a host of good friends and family.
