Dianne was born in Edmonton on June 27, 1954. She grew up helping on the family farm near Whitby until age 16 then moved to Drayton Valley to finish high school. After graduation she moved to Edmonton to pursue an accounting job with the provincial government where she met Alan and eventually got married and had Dustin and Spencer. They enjoyed numerous family trips together to Mexico and Hawaii.
In her free time, Dianne enjoyed live music, canning, quilting, gardening, skiing, golfing, crafting of all sorts, and most of all spending time with her friends, family, and granddaughters. Dianne was a very sociable lady and continued working well into her 60’s to keep herself busy- on top of babysitting her grandkids and her many projects! Dianne was known for her generosity and was always willing to lend an ear or a helping hand to family and friends. Dianne’s heart had no limitations.
Dianne is survived by her sons Dustin (Candas) and Spencer (Haley); partner Randle; granddaughters Alayna and Avery plus a third on the way; sisters Elsie (Neil), Ruth (Allan) and Julie (Dwayne); God son Blair; many nieces and nephews; and many friends including the Mueller/McAteer and Bergenstrom families. She is predeceased by her husband Alan, parents Wanda and Herman, sister Clara and brother Edward.
A celebration of life for Dianne will be held on November 21, 2023, at 10:00am at Westlawn Funeral Home in Edmonton. Donations in Dianne’s honor can be made to the Cross Cancer Society or any charity of your choice. Special thanks to Amanda and the entire home care team at Westview in Stony Plain as well as the PEOLC team through Parkland Fire/EMS.
