It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Corey Ferster on September 26, 2024, age 38. Corey was a devoted father, son, grandson, brother, uncle, partner, and
friend—loved by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his dry wit, generous spirit, and unwavering loyalty to family and friends. His infectious laughter, sharp humor, and caring nature touched everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Born on November 23, 1985, Corey grew up surrounded by a family who loved him dearly. As a loving and proud father, he cherished his daughter, Elle, with all his heart. Their bond was one of the brightest lights in his life. Corey was also a fiercely protective and loving brother to Kachelle and Kennedey, always standing by their side through life’s joys and challenges.
Corey found his calling in the crane industry, where he worked for 16 years. Introduced to the trade by his stepfather, Jamie, Corey developed an immense passion for crane operation. His career spanned from operating small 9-ton carry decks to commanding a Liebherr 1750-ton crane. Corey’s dedication, skill, and pride in his work left a lasting impression on his colleagues, many of whom became lifelong friends.
His love for the industry reflected his passion for building and creating—a legacy evident in the projects he worked on and the relationships he formed.
Beyond his professional achievements, Corey was known for his love of cars, especially his prized orange 1983 Fox Body Mustang. He spent countless hours tinkering with his brother Kennedey and always dreamed of racing side by side. Corey’s passion for speed also extended to snowmobiling trips and motorcycle rides with his uncle Barry, adventures he cherished.
Corey is survived by his beloved daughter, Elle; his parents, Ken, Jane, and Jamie (Stepdad); his sister, Kachelle (Shawn); his brother, Kennedey (Victory); his grandparents, Bob and Lorraine Pack; his girlfriend, Chelsea; and his nephews, Parker and Tanner. He also leaves behind an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. Corey was predeceased by his uncle and best friend, Barry, whose passing 16 months ago profoundly affected him.
A service to honor Corey’s life will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Parkland Funeral Services, 3502–44 Avenue, Stony Plain, AB https://g.co/kgs/4AgrCRh. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Canadian Brewhouse, 4 McLeod Ave #310, Spruce Grove, AB T7X 4B8. Please reach out for further directions via DM or text message.
Corey will be so dearly missed by all who knew him. There will forever be a void in our hearts, and life will never be the same without him. Though our hearts are shattered, we will carry his memory with us every day. The love, laughter, and joy he brought into our lives will live on forever.
