Annie was born in Athabasca, Alberta. She received her high school education at Edwin parr high school. She was then employed as a nurse at the Old Athabasca Municipal Hospital. In Athabasca she met her husband to be Alvin Nelson, known to all as Bud. Bud and Annie were married in 1951 and farmed in the district of Forfar for a few years. They blessed with a little daughter, Lorilee nine years later.
Bud and Annie then decided to sell their rock farm and take on a new position, Bud as a heavy equipment operator and Annie took the position of a counter clerk at the Athabasca Creamery. Later they joined company with Annie’s brother Peter and bought the Athabasca Motel and Trailer Court. They paid the motel off and then moved to Edmonton where Annie was employed with the Edmonton School Board.
Annie was a great mother to her daughter and son-in-law and grandmother to her 2 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Annie was predeceased by her husband Alvin (Bud) in August 2006.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Parkland Funeral Chapel, 3502 – 44 Avenue, Stony Plain, Alberta.
