Tony Castañon was born on July 5, 1929 to the late Epitacio and Juanita Castañon, and passed away peacefully on September 3, 2018 in Stockton at the age of 89. Tony is survived by his children Christine Quiñones (Louie), Tink Castañon (Sandy), Steve Castañon (Eva), Robert Castañon (Lori), 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Felix Castañon and Joe Castañon.
Tony is preceded in death by his wife Helen Castañon and siblings Annie Valdivia, Mary Gutierrez, Pete Castañon, Chet Castañon, and Rito Castañon. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and worked for the City of Stockton as a Public Works Supervisor for 35 years.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Vigil on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., Stockton, CA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated September 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church.
There will be Visitation at DeYoung on Monday and Tuesday from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Committal will be at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a hospice organization.
