Sherry opened The Paper Plum in 1980, was active in the Temple Israel Sisterhood, where she served a term as president, and was an avid duplicate bridge player.
Sherry was married for 47 years to Samuel Cohen, before his passing in 1997.
She is survived by her children Lynne Peterson of Carson City, Robin Cohen and son-in-law Rick Forman of San Andreas, Randy Cohen and daughter-in-law Rene Cohen, grandchildren Justin Griggs, Adam Cohen and wife Kelly Cohen, Jordan Griggs, Lindsay Winner and husband Rob Winner, Courtney Cohen, Jonathan Cohen, Benjamin Peterson, great-grandchildren Ava and Elliott Griggs, Lux Griggs, Max and Sam Cohen, and Thomas and Oliver Winner.
Sherry will be laid to rest at Temple Israel cemetery in Stockton on Wednesday morning.
