Joe was very proud to have served in the Army during the Vietnam era. He was always seen wearing his veteran hats or his Dallas Cowboy hats. After he returned from Vietnam, he went to work at Tracy Defense Depot. He later went to work for Stockton Unified School District at Stagg High School where he also couched girls’ softball.
After his retirement he and Lucille enjoyed road trips, often going for weeks at a time to see this beautiful country he loved. All those road trips usually included Casinos; they also visited local casinos on a regular basis. Summertime would always include taking the grandkids on vacation and having parties in the back yard with the big waterslide.
