Jane Goldsberry Hastings

Jane G. Hastings, age 90, of Stockton, California, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, August 4th, 2015. Born on June 17, 1925, to Emily and Charles Goldsberry, of Webster Groves, Missouri, Jane met and fell madly in love with her late husband, Walter A. Hastings Sr., on New Year’s Eve 1949. They married July 23, 1950, in Reno, Nevada, and, three years later, began their life in Stockton, where Jane worked as a housewife for many years and Walter was a lawyer. Jane enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, traveling, sunsets and spending time with her family, friends and pets. Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Walter, and her daughter Carla. She was survived by her children, Walter A. Hastings, Jr., and his wife, Debra, of Rio Vista, Charles L. Hastings and his wife, Kathleen, of Stockton, Diana M. Hastings of Oakland, and Heather L. Griffitts of Sacramento; by her four grandchildren Ami, Benjamin (Arianna), Catherine (Matthew) and Sophie; and three great grandchildren, Kaleb, Grace and Hannah. Services will be held at 1pm on Sunday, August 9th, 2015, at DeYoung Shoreline Memorial Chapel. Interment for family members only to follow at the Masonic Memorial Gardens, in Reno, Nevada.
