Enedina Flores August 12, 1925-August 5, 2017 Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Tia, and Cousin passed away peacefully just before her 92nd birthday. Nina was born in Jalpa, Zacatecas, Mexico. She did not have an easy life, losing her father when she was only 2 years old. Even when she was young, she was an entrepreneur and began her own business. At 20 she married her one true love, Antonio Flores. Together they moved back and forth between California, Mexico and Nevada. Nina applied for visas on her own and saved money to buy a house so they could move to the U.S. legally and they finally settled in Winnemucca, Nevada and raised their four boys. Her husband passed away when she was only 40 and she moved to Stockton, California to be closer to family, never remarrying. Nina worked at Dameron Hospital, but also continued to invest wisely with her sharp business mind. Nina was a member of St. Bernadette’s Parish for over 50 years. She was a devout catholic and was so happy to be able to spend some time with Father Johnpeter before her passing. She loved to travel with her family! Her son, Dr. Mitch, took her around the world, she enjoyed trips with her siblings, and she was a part of every vacation with her son Jaime and his family. The pride and joy of her life were her grandchildren. Every time any one of them walked into a room her face would instantly light up, and whenever she walked in a room, they would run to her, even as adults. Nina leaves behind her son, Alex & Flor Flores, and their children, Fernando & Marcela, Alex R., and Gina & Kyle of Virginia; her son, Jaime & Jessica Flores and their children, Mitchell, Jamie, and Sydney, of Stockton; her granddaughter, Miriam Flores of Florida; her great grandchildren Miriam, Gabby and Nico; her siblings, Manuel & Socoro Duran of Los Angeles, Martha Flores of Los Angeles, Carmella & Ruben Flores of Monterey Park, and Socoro and Raul Mejia of La Puente; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Antonio Flores, her sons, Dr. Mitch Flores and Tony Flores, and her sisters, Sabina Chavez and Refugio “Cuca” Garcia. A rosary will be said at De Young Shoreline Chapel on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 10:00 am at St. Bernadette’s Parish in Stockton.
