Deloris Elaine Wasmuth, a beloved sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024, in Lodi, California. She was born on December 2, 1943, in Stockton, California, to Domingo Tejano and Edythe Huckaby.
Deloris was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Charles (Chuck) Wasmuth, and her dear son, Jimmy Villalobos. She leaves behind a legacy of love, forever etched in the hearts of her three sisters-in-law, daughter, three brothers, five nephews, two nieces, two granddaughters, three great-grandchildren, and one steadfast family friend among many.
On September 18, 1974, Deloris embarked on a beautiful journey of unknowns and companionship, when she married Charles in Carson City, Nevada. Together, they shared over 45 years, filled with unconditional support, laughter, good food, and countless cherished memories.
Deloris obtained her education at Edison High School, San Joaquin Delta College, and California State College, Sacramento, where she earned a Vocational Teaching Credential in Office Services and Related Technologies, demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning.
At the end of her professional life, Deloris served as a Training Officer with the California Youth Authority, positively impacting the lives of many individuals. She retired in December 2006, leaving a lasting impression on her colleagues and the organization she served.
Deloris had an interest that brought her immense happiness. She was an avid collector, particularly of dolphin memorabilia. Her extensive collection is a testament to her love of these majestic, intelligent creatures and the beauty they symbolized in her life.
Dee Dee's outgoing and personable nature endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. And, of course, her favorite color was purple, a reflection of her vibrant personality.
In lieu of flowers, Deloris requested that donations be made to the Lodi Animal Services Foundation, a community service close to her heart.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated people associated with the Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, Fairmont Rehabilitation Hospital, VITAS Hospice, CalPERS LTC, Lodi Memorial Hospital, Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland, CareOne Home Care, Solstice Senior Living at Lodi, CVS Pharmacy at 1000 Kettleman Lane in Lodi, Pine Street Physical and Occupational Therapy … as well as to the many competent professionals who cared about and for Dee Dee over the past three years ... just to name a few, Dr. Mark Hoff, Office Manager Joyce, Dr. Daren Primack, Dr. Donald Mansell, Dr. Kevin Hilton, Pharmacist Derrick, Dr. Ron Wihlidal, Square Dancing Office Manager Judy, Dr. Melanie Mook, and Executive Director Karen Pascarella. Your support and compassion during the last three years are deeply appreciated.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life, which will be held at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Funeral Home, located at 809 North California Street, Stockton, California. The date and time of the service will be announced shortly.
