Betty Lorraine Holt

Betty Lorraine Holt age 89 passed away peacefully in Stockton, California on February 7, 2014 with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. Betty was born in Stockton to Joseph and Flossie Boggiano on February 4, 1925. She graduated from Stockton High School. Betty was married to Edward Jason Thorpe until his passing in 1972. In 1976, Betty married Fred E. Holt and they were married for 37 years until his passing in December 2013. She retired from Diamond Walnut in 1976. Betty and Fred lived in San Francisco for 30 years until moving to Stockton in 2005. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Flossie Boggiano; five brothers and four sisters and is survived by son Edward Joseph Thorpe (Nona), 3 step-children; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Betty was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother. She never thought about herself only about others. She loved going to Jackson Casino with her son and daughter-in-law. Betty will be missed by her family and friends, leaving many memories for them to talk about for years to come. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12 from 10:00 am – 12:00 Noon in the chapel of Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary with a Graveside Service at 1:00 pm at Stockton Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s name to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave, Stockton, CA 95204.
