Ms. Arlene Ann Hall-Hooks, was born December 7, 1947 in French Camp, California to the late Tommie Sr. and Oletha Hall. Arlene was the 3rd child of 4 siblings. Arlene was preceded in death by her oldest brother Tommie Hall Jr. and great-nephew Dalan John Morris. Arlene was a life-long resident of Stockton, California and she attended Taft Elementary School, John Marshall Jr. High, Edison High and Delta College. Arlene briefly worked for the City of Stockton and Stockton Unified School District. Arlene began her career with the Federal Government at Sharp Army Depot in Lathrop, California. She later transferred to the Defense Logistics Agency in Tracy, California where she worked as a Warehouse Lead Person. She retired in 2006 after 39 years of service. During her employment with the Federal Government she received many awards and special recognition for outstanding work performance. Arlene was a great cook and loved having family gatherings at her home. She made the best potato salad west of the Mississippi which we all will miss. Arlene accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was baptized at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Sloan. She later united with Clemons Chapel Baptist Church where the late Rev. Henry L. Leonard was Pastor. Arlene enjoyed singing in the Clemons Chapel youth choir. She eventually united with God’s Throne Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Zacchaeus Dunham Sr., emeritus Pastor. Arlene was an active member of the Women’s Mission Department. She continued her faithful service under the current pastor, Rev. Dr. Timothy J. Dunham Sr. Arlene leaves to cherish her memories, two siblings, sister Darlene Gamble, brother John L. Hall Sr. (Teresa), sister in-law Beverly Hall, one god-sister Jerris Smith, two god-daughters, Satavia Hall and Dala Taylor, two nephews, Bryant L. Hall Sr., John L. Hall Jr. (Lilliana), 4 nieces, Tangela Hall, Arliss Hall, Dama Lugo (Halilki) and Alexia Hall, several great nieces and nephews, one adopted son Sterling Branson and a host of relatives and friends.
