Bill, as he was affectionately called was born in Jacksonville, Florida on December 8, 1941, yes, one day after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, in Honolulu Hawaii. On March 14, 2021, William suffered a massive stroke, and was rushed to the hospital. On the morning of March 18, 2021, the Lord took him home.
Bill did not have an easy childhood growing up or the example of good parents in his upbringing. Bill dropped out of school at an early age and ended up enlisting in the United States Air Force at the age of 18. Bill served his country during the Cuban Missile Crisis in the early 1960s.
Upon being transferred to Dobbins Air Force Base in Marietta, Georgia, he soon met his bride of 59 years, Edith Jennell Atkins.
Bill is survived by his wife; three children, Revonda, William (III), and Ramona; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and family friends.
Bill loved his country without question and was a true patriot. Even more he loved and adored his family, but to the utmost Bill had an honest and true love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A Graveside Celebration of Life for Mr. William Henry "Bill" Ramsey, Jr. will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 2:00PM at Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. Family and friends are requested to gather at the grave.
