William (Bill) M. Wilson

Ret. LT. William M. (Bill) Wilson, age 76 from Stockbridge, GA, passed away on July 25, 2011. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Virginia S. Wilson who passed February 12, 2006, and Sister Sonja Trocciola of Sharpsburg, GA who passed February 20, 2005. Bill is survived by two daughters, Sandra D. Evans of Stockbridge, Paula Wilson Williams of Marietta, and one son, William W. (Lee) Wilson of Stockbridge, GA. Bill is also survived by his brother and sister in law, Mr. & Mrs. Bobby G. Wilson of College Park, GA, Brother in Law, Eddie Trocciola of Sharpsburg, GA., sister Ann Young and brother in law, Larry M. Young, Sr. (Ex. Director of GALEFI) of Locust Grove, GA, and brother and sister in law Mr. & Mrs. C.W. (Wayne) Wilson of East Point, GA. Bill is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a host of nephews and nieces, friends and fellow Veterans of the U.S. Navy and the East Point Police Dept. Bill served the U.S.Navy from Oct. 20, 1952 through July 29, 1963. He joined the East Point, GA. Police department May 25, 1966 through August 31, 1985. Bill was noted as one of the States’ finest Firearms instructors and he continued his involvement in Law Enforcement training after his retirement. His most recent involvement as a Board Member of the Ga. Assn. of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors allowed him to continue in the fellowship and training of fellow officers and friends that he so dearly cared for. The Family will receive friends on July 26, 2011 from 5p.m. to 8pm at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home located at 376 Fairview Rd on July 27, 2011 at 1:00pm Pastor Tim Dowdy to officiate, Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
