Travis “Trabo” Stephens, or simply “Bo” was born on February 13, 1985 in Birmingham, Alabama to Travis Edwards, Jr. and Tonjia L. Stephens. He entered eternal rest on June 5, 2022.
He was a graduate of Woodlawn High School, Class of 2003 and received his Associate Degree in Healthcare Management from Columbia Southern University. He joined the United States Navy on December 2, 2003, where he served for 18 ½ years on active duty. Chief Petty Officer Travis Stephens was stationed at the Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, as a Recruit Division Commander. He loved what he did and he touched the lives of so many as they learned the necessary tools to be successful in their Navy career.
Travis was devoted to his family and his children were his world. “Bo” was an Atlanta Falcons fan, but most importantly he bled Blue and Orange as an Auburn Tigers fan. He was one of the biggest War Damn Eagle fans you could ever meet.
“Bo” was a well-liked and dedicated man and became friends with anyone who crossed paths with him. He was always positive and was the life of the party. “Bo” loved going to the beach and his favorite hobbies were cooking and bowling. He was very competitive with everything he did. When living in Meridian, Mississippi, he once said, “Kewanna, you pick an ant and I’ll pick an ant and we can race them. I bet my ant beat your ant.” LAUGH OUT LOUD!
If you knew “Bo” you know he had the biggest smile and heart that would light up the room and he will be missed tremendously.
He leaves cherished memories to his devoted wife of 17 years, Kewanna Williams Stephens; loving son and daughters, Kijuan Tremaine Stephens, Kaylee Aniya Stephens and Kali Dream Stephens, all of Atlanta, Georgia; grandparents, Prince Dumas of Opelika, Alabama and Erma Stephens (David Rhodes) of Birmingham, Alabama; father, Travis Edwards, Jr. (Dametrius) of Norcross, Georgia; mother, Tonjia Stephens Shackelford (James) of Birmingham, Alabama; brother, Travis Edwards of Atlanta, Georgia; sister, Latoshia Stephens of Birmingham, Alabama; father-in-law, James Williams (Barbara) of Stockbridge, Georgia; brothers-in-law, Tommie Williams (Ocienya) of Birmingham, Alabama and Clifton Williams of Peachtree Corners, Georgia; sister-in-law, Stacye Wallace (Derron) of Union City, Georgia and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
