Sara E. Franklin

Sara Elizabeth (Shuler) Franklin, of Stockbridge, Georgia passed away on August 12, 2016 at the age of 85. She was born February 25, 1931 in Talladega, Alabama. Mrs. Franklin was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Sidney Franklin, Jr.; parents, John Wesley Shuler and Harriet Elizabeth (Gilmore) Shuler; and 6 of her siblings.

Mrs. Franklin is survived by her children, Allan Shaffer (Bettie) of Florida; Margaret (Shaffer) Wagner of Texas; Everett Shaffer (Elisabeth) of Florida; Donald Shaffer (Chris) of Louisiana; Elizabeth (Franklin) Pence (Todd) of Georgia; Rebecca (Franklin) Haney (Tony) of Georgia; 13 grandkids and 2 great grandkids; and many nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Franklin loved her children and grandchildren and she was loved by many. She loved her church family and her dear friends, but most of all she loved her Lord.

Mrs. Franklin lived in Stockbridge, Georgia for 50 years and for 10 of those years she drove the school bus. Mrs. Franklin was a member of the Ole Country Church where Pastor Robert Vines presides.

A mother that prays for her children and loves them more then they will ever know.

Visitation will be at Horis A. Ward –Fairview Chapel, Stockbridge, GA, Monday, August 15th from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services for Mrs. Franklin will be held on Tuesday, August 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the Ole Country Church. Burial will be at Eastaboga Baptist Church, Eastaboga, AL.
