Raymond was born April 15, 1945 in Atlanta, Georgia to Roy and Annie Byce.
He was a man of mystery. He was a Vietnam Veteran but never really spoke about it. He was always building and creating things from wood and old parts from various things. Raymond would never give away his secret recipes, accept one, his Dippty Do sauce and even then we could not figure it out to the right amount. A fork of this, a pinch of this and so on. He loved being on the grill, grilling ribs. He was a collector of salt and pepper shakers and other crazy things. But most of all, Raymond loved going to the mountains and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Annie Byce and brothers, Rodger Byce and Doug Byce.
He is survived by three children, Michael Byce, Michele Bowers and Melisia Baker; five grandchildren, Tre Bowers, Brooke Black, Logan Sweat, Trent Baker and Abbigail Baker; and five great-grandchildren, Hunter Black, Gracie Black, Lexi Bowers, Emma Bowers and Evelyn Bowers.
A graveside service for Raymond will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 11:45AM in The Heritage Suite at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
