Phillip "Pops" Dobbs

He was born on June 26, 1953, in Decatur, GA, to John Henry Dobbs Jr and Frances Troyice McAdams Dobbs.

Phillip was a beloved member of his family and friends. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. He also had a passion for playing poker, Keno, and the lottery whenever he had the chance. Phillip had a contagious smile and brought joy to every room he entered. He was known for telling jokes and making others laugh.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Dobbs Jr. and Frances Dobbs; his brothers, Ricky Dobbs and John A. Dobbs; and sister-in-law, Vickie Dobbs. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Aycock and Pedro Martinez; brother, Chalmers and Sara Ann Dobbs; sister-in-law, Janice Dobbs; sons, Jeremy and Pamela Dobbs, Jason & Kristina Dobbs, Josh and April Dotson; and daughter-in-law Cindy Ellis. He was also a proud grandfather to Chase Chancey, Savannah Dobbs, Austin Dotson, Autumn Dotson, Jordyn Dobbs, Caleb Dobbs, Brantly Dotson, Felicia Hall, Katie Moon, Courtney Tucker, and Luke Terry. Phillip also had many nieces and nephews, including Ricky, Melissa, Teresa, Bruce, Tina, Charlotte, Brian, Amanda, Diana, Kim, Chalmers Jr, and Warren.

A celebration of Phillip's life will be held at 10am on Friday, April 28th, followed by a graveside memorial at noon. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Aycock, Chalmers Dobbs Jr, Warren Dobbs, Ricky Womack, Donnie Dobbs, and Arthur Stowers. Phillip will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
