Opal Lucree Stripling-Smith

She is survived by her children, Ronald Stripling, Stanley Stripling, Stephanie Smith and Carlos Stripling; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A dedicated Christian and faithful church member, Opal excelled in music, playing the piano for a number of churches, composing music, performing solos and singing in choirs. She loved to travel, was an excellent seamstress, but her greatest pride was in her family.

Her children express their deepest gratitude to the sweet staff at the Benton Village Senior Living Center and Southern Grace Hospice for their excellent care of their mother as her health declined.

Those desiring may send flowers to the service or if you choose, you may also make donations to North Henry Baptist Church in Stockbridge, Georgia or a gift to your favorite charity in her name.

The Celebration of Life for Opal Stripling Smith will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 11:00AM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home-Fairivew Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281, where the family will receive friends from 10:00AM until the hour of service.

The Interment will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 12:30PM in Hillandale Memorial Gardens, 6201 Hillandale Drive, Lithonia, Georgia 30058.

In 0.6 miles, turn right onto Panola Road. Pass Circle K in 1.5 miles. In 3.6 miles, bear right onto Fairington Road (Farrington Stop & Shop on the corner).
