She was the youngest of three daughters, born on July 11, 1920 in Atlanta, GA to the late Nancy Vie Elliott Moore and William Barnes Moore. She graduated from Atlanta Girls High in 1938 and attended Georgia State.
A long time Methodist, Nell was a member of Martha Brown UMC in Atlanta from birth until 1978 and transferred to Bethel UMC in Stockbridge, upon moving to Henry County. Her favorite church activities included Sunday School, United Methodist Women, Lunch Bunch, Seasoned Saints and the Methodist Children’s Home Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Emory Thomas Nash, son Steven and grandson, Brandon Nash.
Her legacy as a loving mother, grand mommy and great mommy will live on through her daughter and son-in-law, Deena and Johnny Goodwin, grandchildren, Lindsay and Terry Powell and Seth Goodwin and great grandchildren, Nash, Miranda and Carson Powell along with an extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nell will be remembered for her positive attitude, sweet spirit and devotion to her family and church.
A Celebration of a long, well lived life will be on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel UMC in Stockbridge, GA. Afterwards, family and friends are invited to a reception in the church fellowship hall.
