Mary L. Massey

Mary was born on July 23, 1922 to the late Austin and Vada Hembree in Manchester, Georgia.

After attending high school in Manchester, she received training as a cosmetologist in New York and went on to become a hairstylist. She loved her career and worked many years until her retirement from Riches and Macy's salons. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She worshiped in the Methodist Church and loved the Lord. Mary is now resting safely in His arms and will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Horace Massey; and two sons, Jackie Lester and Kenneth Lester. She leaves to cherish her memory four grandchildren, Randy Lester of Griffin, GA, Jackie Lester of Griffin, GA, Todd Lester of Marietta, GA, and Kenneth Lester of Forest Park, GA; four great grandchildren, Jack Lester, Taylor Prince, Brandon Lester, and Kristill Swindle; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Naomi Davis of Marietta, GA and Judith Barns of Smyrna, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A visitation of family and friends will be held for Mary on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bethel United Methodist Church | 245 Fairview Road Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A celebration of her life will immediately follow at Bethel UMC. Services will conclude with a graveside committal at Fairview Memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Road Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
