September 21, 1959 – April 15, 2025
Lisa Mays Allen, age 65, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, in Stockbridge, Georgia. She was born on September 21, 1959, in Bristol, Virginia, to the late Harry Byrd Mays and Phyllis Brewer Mays. Lisa was a vibrant and spirited woman, known for her deep love of football—especially the Atlanta Falcons, Georgia Bulldogs, and LSU Tigers, a team she held dear because her beloved son attended the university. She proudly wore the colors of her favorite teams—red and black—year-round, a reflection of her unwavering spirit and pride. Her favorite color, red, matched her bold, loving, and passionate personality. She was also an avid NASCAR fan, rarely missing a race and always cheering on her favorite driver, Chase Elliott. A lifelong fan of Rod Stewart, Lisa found comfort and joy in his music, which became the soundtrack to many cherished memories. She also enjoyed fishing with her husband Tom, a hobby that brought her quiet reflection and joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Byrd Mays and Phyllis Brewer Mays, her brother Randy Mays, and her sister, Cheryl Sprayberry, who she lovingly called “Sissy-Sue.”
Lisa is survived by her husband, James Thomas Allen; her children, Ashly Renee Chatagnier and Cody Ray Chatagnier; and her treasured granddaughter, Brooklyn Ray Phoenix. She also leaves behind many dear friends and extended family members who will continue to honor her memory with love and gratitude. A visitation to celebrate Lisa’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Horis A. Ward – Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
To honor Lisa’s joyful spirit and love of her favorite teams, the family invites those attending to wear Atlanta Falcons or Georgia Bulldogs spirit wear—or simply red and black—in celebration of her life.
Lisa’s warmth and joyful spirit touched the lives of everyone she knew, bringing comfort, laughter, and light to all those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the love she poured into her family and friends, and the countless memories made along the way, will forever remain in our hearts. Her legacy of unconditional love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to be part of her life.
