Evelyn T. Hughes of Stockbridge passed away on November 18, 2014 surrounded by family. Born and raised in Atlanta, she retired from Bell South in 1982 as supervisor at the company headquarters tape library after over thirty years of service. She was a self-made woman of creativity and intelligence. She was devoted to her family, loved to travel and took a keen interest in business, the financial markets and politics. One of four children of Fatima Foster Trammell and William Trammell, she was loving, loyal and generous to friends and family. She will be remembered for her tenacity, generosity and fun-loving nature. After retirement she and her husband, Thomas, were active in the local VFW chapter and spent many happy occasions there dancing and socializing with their friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas H. Hughes and daughter, Sheila K. Shelton. Surviving her are her granddaughters and their spouses, Charlotte L. Shelton-German and David German; Julie Shelton Mastroianni and John Mastroianni; great-grandson, Thomas L. Mastroianni; Sheila’s husband, Andrew J. Shelton; sister-in-law, Mary Trammell; niece and her spouse, Linda and Frank Dodds and numerous extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 29, Noon – 2 pm; Horis A.
