Carolyn Mitchell

Carolyn Mitchell, age 68, of Oxford, went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 7, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014, at Rockdale Baptist Church at 1pm, with Billy Moss officiating.

Born in Atlanta, GA to parents Grace Parker and Willis Edgar Britt. Carolyn retired from Bellsouth after 35 years and went on to work for H&R Block for over 15 years. She is a long-time member of the Rockdale Baptist Church in Rockdale County. Carolyn had a tremendous passion for her faith, family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years Clifford Mitchell; son & daughter-in-law, Larry E. and Susan C. Mitchell, daughter & son-in-law, Connie and Danny Rager, grandchildren; Carly Mitchell, Martin Mitchell, Jordan Rager, Jacob Rager and Jared Rager, siblings; Frank Britt, Fred Britt, Jenny Meadows, Lillian Morgan and Betty Williams; many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Grace Parker & Willis Edgar Britt, and brother, Bud Britt.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 10, 2014 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Rockdale Baptist Church.
