Barbara L. Wade

Barbara was born on January 8, 1929, to Alline and Alton Echols in Atlanta, Georgia. She passed peacefully at home on October 2, 2020.

She was married at an early age to John (Jack) Robertson until his premature death in 1955. She spent 50 years of happiness with her second husband, William R. (Bob) Wade, until his death in 2012.

Barbara retired from American Southern Insurance Company after nearly 30 years in their data processing department.

Her real love was gardening. She never met a plant she didn’t like. That is pretty much true of people also. She was a truly selfless person, helping anyone in need, whether family, friends, or neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and sisters Delores Garner and Vivian McGinley. Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Janet Sherwood (Joe); son, Russell Robertson (Kathy); grandchildren, Pam Connor (Doug), Kelly Terhune (Mark), Michael Anderson (Ivy), and John Robertson; plus great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, and nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel on Monday, October 5, 2020, from 11:00 AM until Noon with graveside services at Fairview Memorial Gardens immediately following. Services are restricted to family members and masks are required.
