Robert D. Potter Sr.

Robert "Bob" D. Potter, Sr., age 83, of Surprise, Arizona passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Robert was born on November 3, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Loving husband of Lucy, nee Jama of 63 years. Beloved father of Christopher (Elizabeth), Robert III, and the late Robert, Jr. Cherished grandfather of Nicole Lahanis, Matthew (Kathy) Potter, Jessica (Aurelio) Gamboa, Michael (Seirra) Potter and Jeremy Potter; great-grandfather of Sophia, Zoey, Leo, Alyssa, Owen, and Max. Dear brother of Fred (Betty) Potter, Pat (George) Soto, Ronny (Linda) Schwager and the late Edsel Potter, Betty Cerullo, Rita Michas and Sandy Potter. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

When Lucy and Bob met, Lucy was in grammar school. The second time they met, was at a party playing spin the bottle. They kissed and fell in love. Lucy said, "he was a good kisser." They were married August 19, 1961 in Chicago, IL. Bob was a truck driver for over 30 years. He had a passion for bowling, and bowled on multiple leagues with great friends. He enjoyed watching wrestling. Bob was a wannabe cowboy, riding horses every weekend, and he loved participating in drag races with his brothers. Bob's love for riding Harleys was passed down to his grandsons. His favorite foods included Home Run Inn Pizza, Pepe's tacos, hot sauce and a Pepsi. Bob enjoyed playing cards and visiting Vegas and when he would visit Chicago, he'd always find time to fit in a poker game.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation for Bob that will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Avenue, Stickney, IL 60402. A funeral visitation to be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM until time of chapel prayers at 12:00 PM at Mount Auburn Funeral Home. A burial to follow at Mount Auburn Memorial Park, Stickney, IL 60402.
