Robert L. Hoffman

Robert L. Hoffman, age 84 passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Robert was born on November 13, 1939 to his parents Mary and Phillip Hoffman. Loving husband of Betty nee, Bergles. Beloved father of Jennifer A. Cione and Mary B. Ring. Cherished grandfather of Madeline Ring, Danielle Ring, Gina (Trevor) Frank, Erica Cione and Joseph (Cynthia) Cione and great-grandfather of Gabrielle Tyk, Axel Frank, Gemma Frank. Dear brother of Fred (Sue) Hoffman, James (the late, Sharon) Hoffman and the late Terry (the late, Pat) Hoffman; brother-in-law of the late John (the late Erika) Bergles and the late James (Jeanine) Bergles and uncle, great-uncle of many.

At a very young age, Bob worked at the Palmer House as a ticket runner. He would run from theater to theater and any sports event. Bob retired from the United Center box office in 2005 and as business agent of Local 750 of the I.A.T.S.E. in 1998. He worked at the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs & Chicago White Sox box offices. Robert worked in many theaters around the Chicagoland area that were Local 750 Union of the I.A.T.S.E.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Robert on Monday, September 9, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Avenue, Stickney, Illinois 60402. Prayers at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 9:30 AM. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 4300 South Oak Park Avenue, Stickney, IL 60402, followed by a burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Belmont & Cumberland Avenue, River Grove, IL 60171.
