Larry Delano King was born on August 29,1951, to Willie Lawrence King and Annie Mae Walker King in Chicago, Illinois.
He grew up in Chicago, graduated from Austin High School in 1969, and proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard. Later in life, he relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he resided for the past 15 years.
Larry was a lifelong learner who earned an Associate in Science degree from Minneapolis Community and Technical College, and numerous certificates and awards. He was a hard worker who, for many years, drove a truck. More recently, he served as a security guard and a job coach. In his youth, Larry played guitar for a band called the Deltations, which was pictured in a Chicago newsletter.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter Kellee King McField, grandson Devon McField, and granddaughter Klarke McField; siblings Shirley Martin (George), Mary (known to family as Nippy) Sood, Michael King (Tanisha), and Michelle Harbeck (Mark); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Willie (Billy) Lawrence King Jr., and his parents, Willie Lawrence King and Annie Mae Walker King.
The family extends sincere thanks to Phyllis Ellen McGee for her assistance and support.
