Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 4, 2015 at St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church 5400 South Nashville, Chicago, IL. Burial following at Resurrection Cemetery 7201 South Archer Avenue, Justice, IL. Visitation will be held at Mount Auburn Funeral Home 4101 Oak Park Avenue, Stickney, IL from 2p - 8p Thursday, December 3 and at St. Daniel the Prophet Church from 9a-10 am prior to Funeral Mass at 10am.
John was born December 17, 1916 in Chicago to parents Jozef and Antonia (Pajak) Konieczny. A former long time resident of Chicago and then Homer Glen, IL. John lived the last 4 years with his daughter in Dayton, Texas. John was a retired owner of Archer Realty Co. and a former manager of W.H. Miner and Company. He was a member of St. Daniel Church and then St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Dayton. John was active in the Holy Name Society, the head usher at St. Daniel Church, and an officer at Brother Rice High School Fathers and Alumni Parents Club and the Southwest Realty Board.
John greatly enjoyed gardening, travel, the Chicago White Sox, the Black Hawks and all things Polish.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Rosalie (Kurdas) Konieczny his wife of 40 years and his siblings: Walter, Frank, Roman, Joel, Victoria, Adele, Claire, Felix, Sandra and Jenny. He is survived by his daughter Diane Wyatt and husband Don of Dayton, sons Dennis Koncieczny and wife Jill of Homer Glen and David Konieczny and wife Pat of Plainfield. Sisters Helen Hibner and Dorthy Dumelle, numerous grandchildren, many great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren many other relatives and friends.
