Dearest wife of 49 years of the late Casey V, beloved mother of Casimir (Anita) and Robert (Marilyn Rosenfeld), proud grandmother of Alexander Gorski, Daniel Newcomb, Martin Rosenfeld, Krystle Rosenfeld and Melanie Palton, loving great-grandmother of Kahla, Martin Jr., Isaiah and Cassie Rosenfeld and Rodney Ward.
Bernice was born January 19, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to her beloved parents, Bronislawa “Bernice” and Teodor Bloch., Preceded in death by her loving sisters and brothers, Helen Chmielewski (Tony), Irene Krysiak (Stanley), Walter Bloch (Mimi), Edward Bloch (Lottie), Matthew Bloch (Kay), Frank Bloch (Eleanor), Theodore Bloch, and Richard Bloch, and her life-long best friend Dorothy Kroll-Van Moffaert.
Bernice is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and her special niece Linda Borowiak (the late Alex). Bernice worked for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office for 23 years, and had many co-workers who were truly her good friends.
Bernice mostly loved spending time with family and friends, baking, playing bingo, bunco and the Lottery, watching TV, and as a devout Catholic, loved going to Mass, and loved her GOD above everything. Now she is rejoicing in heaven.
A visitation for Bernice will be held Monday, December 4th, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Avenue, Stickney, Illinois 60402. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, December 5th, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 4300 South Oak Park Avenue, Stickney, Illinois 60402. A graveside service will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum, 7201 Archer Road, Justice, Illinois 60458.
In lieu of flowers, masses or donations to St Jude Children's Memorial Hospital would be appreciated.
