 Obituario de Fernando Rosario Jr.
Fernando Rosario Jr, 73, of Staunton, VA, passed away on May 15th, 2024, at 3:51 P.M. Fernando Rosario Jr. was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to Bernardina and Fernando Rosario Sr. on December 21st,1950. His parents moved to Manhattan, NY when Fernando Rosario Jr. was 5 years old. Fernando Jr. was raised in New York City and received his GED as he worked during the night as an Emergency Medical Tech ambulance driver. Fernando was hired by the Metropolitan Police Department in April 1972 in Washington, D.C. Fernando Jr. chose a path and joined the Army reserves in 1984, where he served for 6 years. Fernando eventually reached the rank of Detective with MPD and retired in November 1991. After Fernando’s first retirement and passion for policing, Fernando continued his career with various agencies. Park Ranger in Bowie MD, and with the City of New Carrolton as a code enforcement officer. He volunteered at Family Matters in DC as an instructor, teaching the elderly how to use the iPad. Fernando’s last job was with OIG in Baltimore as an investigator for welfare fraud where he retired in 2019. Once retired, Fernando and his wife Kathy enjoyed going on road trips, cruises, and seeing family; but mostly spending time with their cats and dogs. Fernando married Kathy Lynn Rosario on February 29th, 2004 in Riva, MD. Fernando Rosario Jr. was preceded in death by his father, Fernando Rosario Sr. and his mother Bernardina Rosario. Fernando Rosario Jr. is survived by his wife, Kathy Lynn Rosario; oldest brother, Ruben Rosario (Sara); only sister, Adamina (Americo); his sons, Fred Rosario Sr. (Cynthia), Ruben A. Rosario (Beth); daughters, Candi and 2 children, and Melanie and 4 children. Grandchildren, Kayla, Ruben Jr, Ryan, Little Freddie Jr, Brianna and Chelsea; as well as 4 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many nieces, great nieces, nephews, and friends. Fernando was loved as he loved his family and will be greatly missed by us all. Memorials may be given to Hospice of the Shenandoah and Shenandoah House in Fisherville, VA. The family of Fernando Rosario Jr. wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Christopher C.
