Mildred Louise Honeycutt, 86, formerly of Rural Hall, NC, passed away on December 22, 2017 at her residence after an extended illness of Alzheimer’s and cancer. She was born on September 15, 1931 in Iredell County, the daughter of the late Thomas Honeycutt and the late Beulah Dishman Honeycutt. She graduated from Harmony High School in 1949 and was retired from the Housing Authority of the City of Winston Salem. Prior to her illnesses, she was active in King Moravian Church in King, NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Pauline Hager, and three brothers, Hubert Parker, Jay Parker and Ross Parker, and a very close friend, Dorothy Creed.
She is survived by her niece; Nancy Hutchison (Russell); Great-nieces, Amy H. Matney (Kenneth) and Karen H. Lowe (Brian Beaver), who lovingly cared for her during her illnesses. Several other nieces and a nephew survive, along with special close friends John and Sandy Miller of Rural Hall, NC and Jeanette and Mary Lee Swaim of Winston Salem, NC. Special thanks to all the friends and the members of King Moravian Church of King, NC for all the thoughtful cards sent to Mildred.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 27 from 12:30pm until 2:00pm at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be following at 2:00pm in the Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home Westmoreland Chapel with the Rev. Lynne Lepley officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity United Methodist Church cemetery.
