Marilyn Louise Stevenson

Marilyn Louise Stevenson, age 63, of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully, on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Marilyn was born on August 28, 1959, to Arthur "Snook" Cowan and Dorothy "Izolla" Garner Sloan.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, step-father, George R. Sloan,and brother, Millard Eugene Garner.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Shannon Burton, grandchildren: Sierra Keaton, Toshan Roseboro, Tovon Roseboro, Seven Burton; sisters: Shirley Garner Galaspy, Josephine Miller; sister-in-law, Laverne Garner, aunts: Francis G. Wilson, Bertha G. Davidson, Kathleen Chambers; uncle, Johnny R. Chambers, nieces and nephews: Tonya McNeely, Teriyaki Perkins, Sherlonna Garner, Lee-Jamil Miller, LeLan Miller, and Jeanette Garner.

Marilyn was part of the graduating class of South Iredell High School, 1977, Elder of the Church, Cameron Presbyterian Church, enjoyed bowling, softball, working in her yard, and planting flowers.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 1:00- 1:30 pm, at Cameron Presbyterian Church. A funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm, with Pastor Timothy Bates officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
