Mrs. Marie Proctor Triplet Collins, 83 of Union Grove, died Monday at Gordon Hospice House. She was born in Mooresville, September 25, 1928, daughter of the late George Monroe Proctor and Gertrude Dry Proctor.
She was first married to John Triplet who preceded her in death and she then married Robert Collins, who also preceded her in death along with a son David Triplet and five brothers and 3 sisters.
Marie was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church, where she was active in her church choir and was a Sunday School Teacher. She was a Girl Scout Leader, working in the Nursing Home Ministry, the Card Ministry, Meals-on-Wheels and the Parent Ministry.
She is survived by her children; Faye Blanton and husband Kenneth of Union Grove, Robert Triplet and wife Susan of Troutman, grandchildren; Evie Massey, Dawn Hernandez, Jonathan Triplet, Christina McAlister, Cassandra Triplet, Patrisha Triplet, Jacob Triplet and Jon Paul Triplet. Great Grandchildren are Ashliegh Huffman, Trinity Triplet, Jaxson McAlister, Natalya Manall and Arian Najafi.
Services celebrating her life are scheduled for Wednesday, April 11th at 4 p.m. at the Union Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Kirby and Rev. Tom Corbell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside services in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Saxton, Brian Saxton, D.J. Estes, Matthew Suber, Donald Suber and Aaron Estes.
Memorials may be given to Union Grove United Methodist Church, 1331 Sloans Mill Road, Union Grove, NC 28689. The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, to Donna, Tracy, Texie and Marty, with a very special thanks to the Gordon Hospice House physicians and CNAs.
