She was born June 11, 1943, in Iredell County and was the youngest child of the late Laura Brawley and William Jerome Hutto, Sr. She was educated in the Iredell County Schools and received her CNA certification from Catawba Valley Community College. She was retired supervisor from Southern Furniture Company in Conover and attended Hiddenite United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener, talented painter, lover of all things, and caregiver for her family and husband. She was a shining example of loyalty and courage. She was a true fighter with a will of iron and a motto of “tomorrow will be better.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lee Roy Patterson, Sr., whom she married on July 6, 1957 – their story was one of love everlasting; and two brothers, James Allen Hutto and William Jerome Hutto, Jr.
She is survived by a son, Lee Roy Patterson, Jr. and his wife, Glenda, of Taylorsville; and a sister, Phyllis Elizabeth Hutto Clark of Statesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service celebrating Linda’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Hiddenite United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ricky Mitchell, Larry Scott, and Tony Bunton officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 PM Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
