John Leihugh Moseley, 72, of Harmony, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 in Statesville. He was born on December 18, 1951 in Chatham County, Georgia to Carroll “John Henry” Moseley and Barbara Freeman.
He graduated from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy in 1974 and later from the Medical College of Georgia in 1986. John served as Chief of Surgery in Griffin, GA, taught Medical Assisting at ECPI in Greensboro, and taught in the Allied Health Program at Surry Community College – Yadkinville Campus. He was a Georgia football fan. He also enjoyed playing golf and listening to country music.
John was preceded in death by his parents; and his step-father, Jack A. White.
He is survived by his son, Jackson Moseley of Milner, GA; sisters, Sharon Hohenstein (Joe) of Savannah, GA, Debra Stephens (Danny) of Carrolton, GA, and Carol Ann Scott (Dr. Jim) of Savannah, GA; a host of nieces and nephews; significant other, Linda, and her children, Layken and Alyssa of Harmony, NC; and Colby and Collin Phillips.
Dr. Moseley’s family will receive friends on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 6:00 p.m., with Pastor Bill Troutman officiating.
