Mrs. J. Raymelle Ritch Floyd, 89, of 230 Lippard Farm Rd. Statesville, died Saturday May 14th at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born June 13, 1921 in Johnstown, S.C., she was a daughter of the late William Adrian Ritch and Mary Alma Smith Ritch. She was a retired dietician. On October 19, 1940, she married Mr. Pete David Floyd who died on July 22, 2003.
Survivors include four sons: Dennis R. Floyd and his wife, Davina, Randy Floyd and his wife, Cindy, and Mickey Floyd all of Statesville and Curtis D. Floyd and his wife, Linda of Tryon and a daughter, Julia Floyd also of Statesville, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Services celebrating Mrs. Floyd's life will be conducted at 2:00 Tuesday at Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas E. Southern officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home and at other times will be assembled at the residence of the deceased.
