Jerry Dale Hinson, 79, of Statesville, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Gordon Hospice House surrounded by loved ones. After many years of declining health, he is now perfectly healed. He was born on April 21, 1945 in Statesville to the late Ed and Hazel Hinson. He was a lifelong member of Western Avenue Baptist Church. Jerry was a truck driver for most of his life. He was a hard worker who loved cutting wood, doing yardwork and going to gun shows.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Buddy Hinson, Bob Hinson and Carroll Hinson. He is survived by a sister, Judy Harwell.
Those left to cherish his memory are daughters: Carrie Benner (Chris) of Newton, NC, Kelly Berrier (Chap) of Clemmons, NC and Holly Holland of Mooresville, NC; by grandchildren: Mallory Davis (Luke), Jarret Benner (Meggie), Brinley Benner, Brett Berrier (Sam), Abby Berrier, McKenzie Martin, Sam Martin, Mylee Martin and Sadie Hinson; and by great-grandchildren: Gaines Davis, Elsley Davis, Parks Davis and Briggs Benner. Great-grandchildren Baby Benner and Baby Berrier are due soon.
The family would like to thank these special friends for all their love and care for many years: Randall and Ginger Meadows, Ricky Osborne, Ricky Cook, Tommy Moose, Saundra Ballard, Frank Cook and Miranda Morgan.
The family will receive friends at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 6:00 until 7:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Gordon Hospice House and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
